The Love Hate Relationship With Weights

diet diets diet plan diet plans

I have been having weight issues since forever, and I’ve tried just about anything short of surgery: hitting the gym, diets, signing up for packages at weight management centres. In the end, what I’ve got is just a heavier body and a lighter wallet.

One of the first diets I tried was the Medifast Diet. It comprises of low fat, low carbohydrates, and ultra low calorie plan. Apparently, people have lost up to 20 lbs in just 30 days when following this diet.

Another diet I tried was the Flat Belly Diet. The Flat Belly Diet suggests a 1600 calorie diet with emphasis on unrefined foods and allows taking once in a month very little red meat, which is difficult for me because I love meat! The Flat Belly Diet is not so popular as results are slow, the book is expensive and the diet is complicated. If you want to get the book from me, just drop me a comment later.

There’s this other diet that is very popular called the Zone Diet, which basically means a diet with low carbohydrate diet plan where proteins do not dominate the carbohydrates which enable the dieters to get energy from carbohydrates than from protein or fats. It’s confusing when one diet tells you not to touch carbs while another discourages protein. The Zone diet enables you to stabilize hormones and when excess insulin is released into bloodstream, it contributes to weight loss and lowers risks of other chronic diseases.

Perhaps the most famous of them all is the Atkins Diet, a high protein diet that provides a long term weight loss and weight management plan, where the food consumed makes the body burn fats instead of storing the fats. About 40% of the people tend to leave the Atkins diet midway due to the severe food restrictions, but then again, that’s why it’s called a ‘diet’, isn’t it?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots = Easy, Painless Way to Lose Weight

diet diet information diet programs

I bet you wouldn’t believe me if I told you you could lose weight in 11 days. I bet you’d be even more shocked if I told you you could do that by eating more than three meals a day, and you didn’t have to starve yourself with the ol’ low-fat, low-carb, i-only-can-eat-half-a-meal-a-day diets. You don’t have to keep calculating calories, you don’t have to perform mental arithmetic acrobatics each time you pick up a piece of breadstick; and you can say farewell to those protein shakes for good. After all, you know by now how hard these things are to practice, and even so, it doesn’t always work.

So try something different. Try, maybe, eating different sorts of calories each day, so that your body has to work harder to burn those calories. Sounds crazy? But that’s precisely what Fat Loss 4 Idiots recommends. They call this the Calorie Shifting method, and the logic is that if our body’s metabolism burns our fat according to our eating habits, then if we reduce the amount of calories we consume suddenly (e.g. your average diet), our body responds by burning up less calories. However, if we shift the calories we take in every day, our metabolism works harder to burn up all these different calories we introduce into the body. Kinda makes sense, huh?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots provides you an online generator that computes everything for you. Get this – you get to choose what you want to eat, and the generator calculates the calories to make sure these different foods with different calories are on the menu in the right balance at the right intervals. Its called the Idiot Proof Diet. Why? Because everything is calculated for you.. i.e. no more reading tiny label prints and frustrating calorie calculation! A bonus is that after you finish an 11-day cycle and lose weight, you can restart the cycle again to lose even more. It’s a unique plan that overshadows all the others out there..because it champions this point: that food is not the enemy. In fact, simply eating the right foods at the right intervals may do the trick to lose weight.

My Pride, My Blackberry Curve

BlackBerry Curve the smallest lightest

When a friend asked me the other day on why I bought the Blackberry Curve, I realised how fond I am of this little gadget. It’s light at about 110 gm, and the keypad has been designed to suit thumb typing. The Blackberry Curve has a Speaker phone with voice Activated Dialing facility, which is useful for me when I needed to make called while driving. The phone also has a media player and a 2.0 MP camera which has built-in zoom and flash. A special feature the Blackberry Curve has is that it has the trackball, organizer and Blackberry Maps. It’s hard not to fall in love with this phone.

Prior to the Blackberry Curve, I had a Motorola KRZR which was slightly lighter at about 102g. It was a clamshell phone that has internal antenna, Bluetooth, USB, PC Sync, voice dialing, speaker phone, and picture ID. The phone has a removable Micro SD card slot which allows me to add more music files. The Motorola KRZR I had was in cosmic blue and silver sail color casing, which I liked very much, and because I have many appointments and meetings to attend, the MotoSync facility which synchronizes all contacts and calendar details with a touch of a button, thus allowing me to keep tab of my activities.

Actually, before getting the Blackberry Curve, I did considered the BlackBerry 8100, also known as the Blackberry Pearl. The phone uses a modified QWERTY layout on the keyboard with an input algorithm known as SURETYPE, but I find it not suitable for my lifestyle and needs because the built-in memory is only 64 MB, and although it can be expanded through microSD card, the lack of certain functions did not appeal to me. All in all, I still love my Blackberry Curve…

The Ericsson Mania

I don’t know about you, but I have an unexplainable attachment towards Sony Ericsson phones. There was a season when I was all ga-ga over the Sony Ericsson S500i, which has a memory of 12 MB, a screen of 240 x 320 pixel color and network connectivity to 4 networks. On top of that, this little baby supports Bluetooth, media player, music tones, web browser, 3D games, video streaming, Java, and video clips. Oh, and not forgetting the USB mass storage that helps the Sony Ericsson S500I user to email, SMS, MMS.

Then there is the Sony Ericsson k750i which I also fell in love with. It has image management software, digital music player, FM radio, organizer, camera, media player and Bluetooth. The GPRS gives fast mobile data and also helps you to browse the web through WAP and to download Java games, wallpapers, and ring tones. Its dual-front design with its back like a digital camera allows the user to hold it sideways to take photographs. Another plus point is the keypad. The design of the keypad is comfortable to use with low audible noise and numeric keys are easy to distinguish because of their convex shape. Style and function, I like.

Not too long ago, the manufacturers came up with the W series, signifying the much awaited birth of walkman phones for music lovers. The Sony Ericsson W810i has the facilities of email, sound recorder, SMS, MMS and an organizer which contains notes, phonebook, stopwatch, tasks, timer, alarm clock, calculator, calendar and contacts, 3G video call feature, 64MB built in memory, Memory Stick PRO Duo card for memory expansion, all packed within 116 grams.

Tell me, how can you not fall in love with Sony Ericsson’s phones? Do drop me a line or two on your opinion of this brand’s phones, alright?

Nokia VS Sony Ericsson on 10facts.com

GSM Sony Ericsson gsm phone cellphone

It’s the battle of the brands. First Nokia comes out with hands free speakers to help people work as well as comfortably use the variety of features on the Nokia 6230i without any disturbance. Sony Ericsson came up with the Sony Ericsson K800i that has a screen display of 240*320 pixels and features like Bluetooth, USB Cable support, e-mail, infrared port, password protection code and voice dialling.

And of course Nokia would come up with something like the Nokia 5310: personal voice recording that can be transmitted to compatible gadgets and has MiDi, ACC, eACC and WMA. Oh, and also the tri-band EGSM 900, 1800, ans 1900MHz for users to reach out to the globe. To top that, Sony Ericsson has to develop the Sony Ericsson w580i to rival other music phones by adding a special feature where the user can change the song with just a mild flick of the wrist, a stereo Bluetooth 2.0 technology, an FM radio and also 2.0 mega pixel camera with a camcorder. Try to beat that, Nokia!

If you want to learn more about the makes of the phone, instead of visiting each brand’s website to search for the model, you can check out 10facts.com for quick facts in short, easy sentences. There’s no need to go through all the flashy interfaces from the official websites, you get to save time from searching and loading. Isn’t that nice? Besides these two brands, there are a lot of other brands and models featured as well, not forgetting other categories like autos and health. Personally, I think it’s great that sites like this exists because I get to learn more in the least amount of time. Everything is straightforward. Although it could be a bit outdated, but still, there’s no expiry date for knowledge, right?

For Your Eyes Only

hide windows desktop manager hide windows

Don’t you find it frustrating when people peek at what’s on your monitor, especially when you are at work? Personally, I hate it when colleagues from the Human Resource departments comes over to have a ‘casual chat’ when really, they want to know what you are up to. It kind of puts me off because I’ll think that they are not being genuinely friendly, instead, it felt like they are prying and keeping a look out for your wrong doings..possibly to get some brownie points for reporting bad behavior.

The most frustrating thing is when you can’t hide everything you are doing by minimizing the window because the title will stay visible at the status bar. You can’t just close the application either because you will loose unsaved data. Like, if you are watching something on youtube that might take some time to load, you’ll have to reopen a new window, search for the video and then wait for it to load again. It almost makes having a little entertainment become a stressful operation.

Well, there’s this application that’s called Hide Windows Free. It basically hides your windows and restore your original display resolution. It restores everything back when the coast is clear. This is a free version of the famous Anti-Boss Key application.

This is how Hide Windows Free works: it instantly hides windows with a secret key combination which will be restored to exactly the same state. The application will allow you to customize mouse and keyboard bosskey shortcuts, hide task bar, desktop icons, wallpaper…basically all you need to be kept away from the boss. The boss key application is password protected so don’t worry about the ’smart’ people who might check your desktop while you were away from keyboard. Try it now and save 50% with the limited time discount offer.
